Madrid:

Madrid is the capital city of Spain. It is known for its parks, soccer teams (Real Madrid & Atletico Madrid), Plaza Mayor, Retiro Park, Prado museum, and as a major financial center in Europe. Madrid is the second largest city in the European Union and there is never a shortage of things to do.

Things to do in Madrid:

  1. El Retiro Park: This park is huge with so much to do. There are workout classes, skating, running groups, and so much more. You can easily spend the day here taking in nature.

  2. Plaza Santa Anna: Neighborhood with a collection of bars, restaurants, and ice cream shops. Gelato Ritucci is located here.

  3. Visit Lavapies: Lavapies is just outside of the city center of Madrid. There is a large African population here. If you need hair products, beauty supply store makeup, or anything of the sort, this neighborhood will have it.

Food in Madrid

Best eats in Madrid:

  1. Los Torrenzos: Typical Spanish restaurant with tapas.

  2. Gelato Rittuci: Located in Plaza Santa Anna. Delicious Gelatto.

  3. Tacos al Pastor. Who doesn’t love €2 tacos?

Conclusion: Madrid is like any other major city in Europe that should be visited at least once by every traveler. The city would serve as a good starting point to visit other regions throughout Spain. I recommend visiting Madrid in the Spring to get the most out of the weather.
